We’re really lucky to be working again with Michael Ensminger, the best theater photographer in the state. (Yeah, we make big statements like that. We’re hoping it will be part of why you love us.) He did our publicity photos for Mr. Spacky…the Man Who Was Continuously Followed by Wolves. And we’re really, really excited about the God’s Ear ones. A few:
An interesting story. For various reasons, we had to reschedule this photo shoot twice. Michael and Amanda, The Catamounts’ Artistic Director, wanted to do the shoot somewhere visually compelling, and Michael chose St. Mary’s Glacier in Idaho Springs, about a hour and fifteen minute drive from where most of the cast lives.
By the time we got up there, it was pouring rain and lightning. But we had just driven so far, and had to reschedule so many times, we were determined.
And so, the most intrepid cast in the world did the entire shoot in pouring, cold, Colorado mountain rain.
However, there is a recurring metaphor in the play–“and the lake looked like it was boiling.” Take a look at the lake in these shots…a wonderfully poetic serendipity.
